Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a creative, dynamic OH&S Technician to support the district's health and safety program. You will implement and promote policies, conduct investigations and indoor air quality testing, and provide training to staff.

Strong communication and the ability to coordinate with multiple agencies are essential for success. The role requires a college diploma in OH&S with 3+ years of related experience; CRSP is an asset.

Qualifications

• Completion of a community college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety with at least three years of related experience.
• CRSP certification is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Ontario OHSA, Environmental Protection Act, Fire/Building Codes and OCDSB policies.
• Ability to communicate with outside agencies and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support OH&S management system through implementation, maintenance and promotion of policies.
• Conduct investigations, indoor air quality testing and inspections.
• Provide training/workshops to staff and liaise with Board personnel at all levels.
• Identify risks, coordinate corrective actions and maintain OH&S documentation.
