Job summary

Ontario Public Service seeks a Safety and Personnel Systems Specialist to join the AFFES program, providing expert health and safety guidance and coordinating safety initiatives across Aviation, Emergency Management and Fire Management. You’ll support compliance with OH&S laws, develop programs, and lead training efforts with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and programs.
• Ability to interpret OH&S legislation and standards.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate and support health and safety programs within AFFES.
• Identify opportunities to improve health and safety programs.
• Support compliance with legislated workplace requirements and standards.
• Provide leadership to managers and staff on safety management system implementation.
• Lead development and maintenance of occupational safety programs.
