Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Safety Specialist to conduct HSQA audits, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations across Ontario sites. You will monitor OHSA compliance, lead root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions with local management. The role requires 3+ years in health and safety and a valid driver’s license.

The position emphasizes safety program development, training delivery, and stakeholder coordination with regulators and clients. Travel will be required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education focused on Health & Safety, Food Safety, or QA.
• CRSP/CHSC or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; tech-savvy with mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct HSQA audits, unit inspections, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations; monitor corrective action plans.
• Monitor OHSA compliance through field observations and safety protocols integration.
• Lead root-cause analysis for injuries and incidents; support corrective actions with local management.
• Develop and implement HSQA programs; write procedures and conduct site trainings.
• Deliver classroom, onsite, and webinar safety training; participate in meetings.
• Interact with regulators, inspectors, clients, and safety associations; support events with HSQA presence.
