This position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

As an Account Manager, you will develop, implement, and manage the account strategy, focusing on share of wallet growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You will coordinate sales activities, monitor ongoing projects, and resolve specific customer issues. This role contributes to Electrification and Distribution Solutions and is based in Alberta. The work model is 100% remote.

  • Strategy: Understand key business drivers, including significant and emerging risks (e.g., Sustainability, Digital, Cyber Security) affecting the global customer’s business and environment. Interpret the impact and opportunities for ABB, participate in developing sales strategies based on current and long-term customer plans, and lead the development and execution of the account plan and growth initiatives.
  • Targets: Set and propose sales targets for the account, ensuring achievement through structured follow-up across divisions and countries. Sell products, solutions, and services focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets covering all of ABB.
  • Marketing: Create added value for customers and ABB by ensuring a coordinated sales approach (e.g., frame agreements, AVL-related actions).
  • Market Knowledge: Monitor competitor activity within the account, formulate and implement response strategies, and provide input on market price developments.
  • Processes and Tools: Drive the application of standardized marketing and sales processes and tools (Salesforce, account plans, AVLs, etc.) for the account.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Minimum five years of sales experience in the electrical industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Business prospecting.
  • Cold calling experience.
