Job Description

Creating an engaging work environment for colleagues of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is as important as turning moments into memories for our guests. The Laundry Operations Manager is an integral role within our hotel, reporting to the Director of Housekeeping and overseeing the laundry operations by leading 20 - 30 colleagues who process and cater to the laundry needs of the 446 guest room resort, including spa, recreational facilities, golf course, multiple F&B outlets, and external contracts. Salary Range

$62,000 - $68,000 per annum

Your Job Duties Include

1. Managing day-to-day operations of the laundry department, ensuring quality, standards, and meeting the expectations of our guests and colleagues on a daily basis.
2. Ensure the highest level of cleanliness in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards, policies, and procedures.
3. Effectively and accurately manage payroll and departmental expenses of the Laundry Department, within budgeted and forecasted guidelines.
4. Effectively lead employee relations within the laundry department.
5. Conduct monthly communication meetings, attend hotel meetings as required, and ensure effective employee performance management standards are met.
6. Maintain a motivated and engaging team by actively working and following up on colleague engagement and well-being.
7. Maintain an environment that promotes the health, wellness, and safety of both colleagues and guests.
8. Promote teamwork within the department and ensure strong interdepartmental relationships are maintained.
9. Oversee all aspects of talent acquisition and internal mobility, from recruitment and interviews to hiring and promotions within the laundry department.
10. Train, coach, and develop staff in accordance with hotel standards to ensure the best quality of service is offered to our internal and external guests.
11. Work closely with the resort’s Engineering team to uphold a preventive maintenance program and ensure prompt completion of all equipment repairs as needed.
12. Ensure the prompt courteous pick-up and delivery of guest laundry, deliver service according to the Fairmont, LQA & Forbes Standards.
13. Maintain strong relationships with the year-round and seasonal laundry contracts in the Town of Jasper.
14. Work closely with the Director of Housekeeping & Director of Rooms to prepare & monitor the annual Laundry operating budget, including revenue streams, labour costs, and operating supplies.
15. Perform linen inventories and manage par levels to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet operational demands.
16. Develop and execute capital projects related to the laundry facility, in collaboration with the Director of Housekeeping / Rooms.
17. Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles.
18. Engage actively in hotel committees as required.
19. Ensure existing environmental initiatives are adhered to, and new and innovative environmental opportunities are implemented.
20. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

1. Minimum of 3-5 years' leadership experience, preferably in a Laundry or Housekeeping environment.
2. Knowledge of laundry equipment and cleaning products is an asset.
3. Strong organizational and administrative skills.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
6. Knowledge of Property Manager System / Opera and other operating systems is an asset.
7. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
