Job summary

Qualifications

• Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• First aid certificate within 3 years (minimum 8 hours) and a refresher course (minimum 6 hours) within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Organize, prepare and animate activities for preschool program, fostering overall development while ensuring health and safety.
• Assist students in dressing and undressing, attend to attendance, and help with meals and snacks following hygiene rules.
• Ensure supervision and safety of students according to conduct rules and safety measures; administer first aid and medications as required.
• Inform parents about student behavior and respond to questions with pertinent information on a daily basis.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of premises and equipment; assist with simple homework and classroom tasks when needed.
• Participate in meetings related to daycare operations and information sessions for parents.
• May help develop individualized education plans and support colleagues with duties; may train new daycare educators.
