Job summary

Kids & Company is seeking on-call supply ECEs for our Victoria location to support early childhood development.

You will maintain documentation, implement emergent curricula, and assist children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth while collaborating with team professionals. A BC ECE license, criminal record check, and up-to-date immunizations are required.

Qualifications

• Valid British Columbia ECE license.
• Criminal Record Check completed.
• First Aid and CPR certification for child care.
• Immunizations up to date.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
• Implement an Emergent Curriculum.
• Support children’s emotional, physical, or behavioural development and help them grow socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.
• Maintain attendance and health and safety checks.
• Work with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as necessary.
• Support children through transitions in and out of the classrooms.
• Participate in team meetings and workshops.

Specifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with children, parents, and co-workers.
• Ability to utilize computer systems for all documentation, reporting, and classroom operations
• Strong collaborator and team player
• Ability to take initiative in and out of the classroom
• Strong problem-solving skills
