Job summary

Kids & Company is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for a flexible part-time role in Ottawa. The position requires commuting between the Eagleson and Barrhaven locations to support 16–24 hours per week, with responsibilities across documentation, curriculum, and child development.

The ideal candidate is CECE-registered, has Standard First Aid and CPR-C, up-to-date immunizations, and is able to travel between locations. Flexible availability is required to meet centre needs.

Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) in good standing.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
• Up-to-date immunization records and two-step TB test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
• Implement an Emergent Curriculum.
• Support children's emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being while fostering development.
• Maintain attendance records and daily health and safety checks.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapists and other professionals.
• Support children through transitions and daily routines.
• Meet classroom ratios as per CCEYA.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development.
• Provide coverage at Eagleson and Barrhaven centres as needed.

We're seeking an educator who is committed to fostering growth, curiosity, and confidence in children and is comfortable commuting between our Eagleson and Barrhaven locations to support operational needs for 16-24 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping
• Implement an Emergent Curriculum
• Support children's emotional, physical, and behavioural well-being while fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Maintain attendance records and complete daily health and safety checks
• Collaborate with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists
• Support children through classroom transitions and daily routines
• Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
• Provide coverage and support at both the Eagleson and Barrhaven centres as required

Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and in good standing
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
• Up-to-date immunization records and two-step TB test
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 lbs
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Eagleson and Barrhaven locations
• Part-Time Position- 16 to 24 hours a week
