Job description

Facilitate order and delivery interactions between food service customers and Gordon Food Service. Seek growth opportunities within existing customers and attract new customers to Gordon Food Service. Represent Gordon Food Service products and services for the assigned territory and manage customer business relationships.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage customer orders
  2. Acquire new customers
  3. Penetrate existing accounts
  4. Act as a foodservice consultant, advocating for IFS customers by helping them achieve their goals through the design and implementation of foodservice systems and GFS value-added solutions
  5. Educate customers about products, prices, and availability
  6. Utilize CRM to review and analyze current opportunities, prospects, and keep account files updated and accurate
  7. Collect all customer balances owing as per company policy
  8. Troubleshoot problems during the order process (e.g., out-of-stock or short-shipped products)
  9. Develop and maintain customer relationships
  10. Manage customer accounts receivables within guidelines
  11. Perform effective route management
  12. Execute the selling cycle effectively
  13. Develop negotiation strategies and possess strong negotiation skills
  14. Leverage resources to increase route growth
  15. Deliver effective presentations
  16. Conduct customer business reviews
  17. Maintain knowledge of industry trends through magazines and local culinary organizations
  18. Demonstrate understanding of the foodservice industry and operations
  19. Focus on sales building, staffing, profitability, and compliance
  20. Explain key features and benefits of Gordon Food Service products
  21. Leverage the advantages of Gordon Food Service branded products
  22. Explain value-added concepts to customers
  23. Perform other duties as assigned
