Job Overview
The Analyst, Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance, is responsible for managing the regulatory business review process to ensure business memberships are AML compliant. This involves monitoring project progress, communicating with branches and members regarding documentation, and supporting the Senior Manager, Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the development of the Privacy Framework, procedures, and Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Programs.
Role
- Lead the Business Member file reviews to ensure documentation is complete and meets current regulatory standards.
- Manage tracking, monitoring, and reporting of non-responders; follow up to obtain required documents, and communicate with Members and branches to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with the branch network and/or members to obtain missing AML documentation and answer inquiries received via the 1-800 Risk Business Review line. Work with managers and other units as needed.
- Prepare all required documentation and gather pertinent information to ensure complete regulatory files. Refer unresolved deficiencies to the Manager.
- Review and analyze member documentation to ensure compliance with AML KYC requirements.
- Liaise with Risk Department, Business Banking, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and assist in problem-solving.
- Support Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance Programs, including:
- Reviewing legislation and processes for regulatory alignment.
- Supporting development of Privacy Framework and related policies.
- Supporting the implementation of ORM and RCM frameworks and policies.
- Reviewing Privacy assessments and providing recommendations to mitigate Privacy risks.
Promote a risk-aware culture through training and support to lines of business.Maintain confidentiality of member information.Ensure accurate data entry using program techniques and technological solutions.Prioritize health & safety to ensure well-being.Perform additional duties as required.Required Skills
- University degree or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Temenos Banking System, Laserfiche.
- Knowledge of AML and interest in regulatory policies.
- Experience with Verafin is an asset.
- Experience in regulatory compliance or privacy functions.
- Proven ability to review and ensure regulatory compliance of Business accounts.
- Working towards CAMS or CIPM designation is an asset.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficient data entry.
- Integrity and trustworthiness.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Exercise due diligence and adhere to policies.
- Awareness of and compliance with enterprise risk factors and regulations.
Additional Information
This is a permanent hybrid role, requiring in-office presence once or twice weekly.
