This Opportunity :

B+H Architects is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role will primarily oversee Accounts Payable (AP) processes while supporting Treasury and Accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and adaptable team player with strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This role offers substantial growth opportunities within the accounting field, including upskilling in key areas.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for :

Accounts Payable (AP) Management :

  • Oversee the full accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding payments and expenses.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring all payments are accurately recorded.
  • Credit card reconciliations and processing.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate AP records, filing systems, and data entry.

Accounts Receivable (AR) Management :

  • Support in certain AR processes such as applying cash to invoices in the financial system.
  • Work with Project Accountants to send AR statements and compile updates.

Cash and Treasury Management :

  • Oversee daily cash management, including monitoring bank balances and ensuring adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure that all bank accounts are reconciled on a regular basis.
  • Process and record all cash receipts and disbursements in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support the treasury function by managing the organization’s cash position and funding requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of cash flow reports, ensuring the availability of cash to meet business needs.
  • Monitor and manage relationships with financial institutions, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

Reporting and Compliance :

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports related to AP, AR, cash management, and treasury activities.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports.

Process Improvement :

  • Identify areas for process improvements within AP, AR, cash management, and treasury functions.
  • Work with internal teams to implement streamlined processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

Core Competencies & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on AP, AR, cash management, and treasury functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with modeling a plus) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Key Soft Skills :

  • Adaptability : Ability to manage fluctuating workloads, including busy periods with ad-hoc requests.
  • Customer Service Focus : Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Problem-Solving : Able to analyze complex issues, suggest solutions, and take proactive steps.

Additional Information :

  • Work Environment : Hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely and in the office as needed. Expectation of some extended hours during peak periods.
