Job description

About the Role:

Our client, a well-respected top 20 Canadian accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong audit and assurance experience. This is a fully remote role offering exposure to complex and emerging industries such as cannabis, psychedelics, investment funds, financial institutions, health care, and pension plans.

You will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners, gaining diverse client exposure and hands-on experience in both public and private audits. This role is ideal for professionals looking to grow their technical expertise while enjoying flexibility and a collaborative work culture where you're more than just a number.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and complete audit, review, and compilation engagements
  • Supervise and coach junior and intermediate staff
  • Review and complete complex areas of audit files, including coordinating with external auditors across cities/countries
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously with strong file management
  • Stay updated with IFRS, ASPE, CAS through continuous learning and professional development
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, compliance, and client service excellence

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • CPA designation (Canada) or Common Final Examination (CFE) completed
  • 3+ years of experience in audit, tax (T1s/T2s), compilations, and reviews for private or public clients
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS, ASPE, and CAS
  • Minimum 2 years of audit experience at a Canadian CPA firm
  • Currently based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Caseware, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Big 4 Firms (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG)
  • Mid-sized Firms (MNP, RSM, Grant Thornton, BDO, Segal GCSE)
  • Boutique CPA Firms focused on assurance and tax

Note: International applicants with strong IFRS audit experience will be considered, but must have Canadian work authorization and remote readiness.
