Job description

Barnes Molding Solutions has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an experienced Production Planner for the Gammaflux and Synventive products, in Livonia MI. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the schedule for production of finished goods or the time-phased deliver schedule of key raw materials to establish the sequence and/or lead time of each operation to meet customer demand. You will work with Operations to determine the optimal level of production and/or purchase to maximize manufacturing efficiencies, minimize raw and finished goods inventories, and meet or exceed customer service expectations. Travel to Peabody MA will be required for training, with all expenses covered. Core Responsibilities:

  1. Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules. Coordinates with material requirements to ensure flow of approved materials to meet production requirements and lead times.
  2. Ensures internal and external customer requirements are met according to the schedule.
  3. Maintains close relationships with external customers; understands ramp-ups, shortages, etc., and monitors customer requirements for due dates for production.
  4. Possesses knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured and repaired within business units. Works closely with Business Unit Managers, Production Supervisors, and Materials Team.
  5. Collaborates with cross-functional leads to identify, plan, and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between operations and supply.
  6. Coordinates interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic.
  7. Schedules and expedites the movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.
  8. Assists in expediting workloads through cells and shared services to ensure schedules are met.
  9. Monitors lead times and offsets to reflect lean manufacturing and flow principles.
  10. Communicates delivery information to customers.
  11. Demonstrates results-oriented problem solving and project management skills.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years of related experience in planning/scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to prioritize workload, manage conflicts, and meet customer needs while protecting company interests.
  3. Supports schedule development and execution in collaboration with the PIC Manager.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  6. Excellent leadership and team skills, capable of interfacing at all organizational levels.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Logistics, or related field highly desired.
