This role involves supporting various HR functions—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and team events. If you're organized, solutions-oriented, and eager to make an impact, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Up To

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

• Attract and manage top talent to maintain a strong team and low turnover
• Screen candidates, conduct interviews, and manage background checks
• Support onboarding with HRIS system for electronic documentation
• Track and report recruitment activities accurately

Disability & Leave Management

• Prepare claims for STD, LTD, and assist with WSBC processes
• Coordinate modified duties and return-to-work plans
• Maintain communication with employees on leave and ensure documentation accuracy
• Collaborate with payroll to manage benefits coverage

Employee & Labor Relations

• Act as a trusted link between employees and management
• Support union contract interpretation and disciplinary meetings
• Assist in planning inclusive team events
• Maintain HR info and internal resources

Training & Development

• Lead orientation sessions for new hires
• Design training content ensuring industry compliance

Performance Management

• Administer performance review programs and support managers
• Suggest improvements for employee-focused performance management

Teamwork & Support

• Collaborate across departments
• Support HR team initiatives
• Share ideas for continuous improvement

What You Bring

• 2-5 years of experience in a generalist HR role (union experience a plus)
• Discretion, integrity, and professionalism
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Friendly, approachable attitude with a helpful mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
• Desire to learn from HR leaders
