Job summary

A leading company in the equipment rental industry is seeking a Human Resources professional to provide remote support across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. Job Description Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Respond to manager and employee inquiries regarding company policies and procedures.
  2. Respond to escalated ServiceNow tickets, CanadaHR emails, and voicemails.
  3. Support the HRBP with employee relations, including participating in or leading investigations, interviews, and providing recommended actions.
  4. Prepare required progressive discipline documentation and follow up with management on completion.
  5. Prepare termination documents and participate in meetings if necessary.
  6. Assist managers with the interpretation of company policies, handling and documenting employee situations; prepare related documentation as needed.
  7. Participate in continuous improvement of department and HR-related processes.
  8. Manage Monthly Turnover Reporting and provide trend analyses through Workday reporting and exit interviews.
  9. Administer all HR programs such as the boot and tool allowance, tuition reimbursement, and Employee Relief Fund.
  10. Administer and track invoices for HR-related programs and services.
  11. Coordinate post-accident drug and alcohol testing, reasonable suspicion testing, follow-up testing, and manage the Return to Duty process.
  12. Respond to government surveys as required.
  13. Maintain and conduct orientations, presentations, and information sessions as needed.
  14. Manage the quarterly Canada newsletter.
  15. Visit branch locations as required.
  16. Participate in HR-related projects such as system testing and acquisitions.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Fluent in French and English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • CHRP designation or working towards it preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar Human Resources role.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant provincial employment standards acts and applicable legislation.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Resourceful and intuitive.
  • Decisive problem solver with good decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate to advanced skills in HRIS systems, report writing, and data analysis.

This role provides remote support across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes.
