PART-TIME BOOKKEEPER - 24 HOURS PER WEEK

The Hare Wine Company is currently seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team for 12 to 24 hours a week. Flexible start times are available, with the option to begin at 9:30 a.m. and finish by 2:00 p.m., making this a great opportunity for someone balancing work with school drop-offs or other personal commitments.

Overview

Our bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining our business's financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, accounts payable/receivable, and some payroll processing. This role is essential to ensuring the financial health and accuracy of company operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payroll processing
2. Bank reconciliations
3. Daily cash reconciliations
4. Managing and processing accounts payable
5. Managing accounts receivable
6. Invoicing for licensees and other revenue streams
7. Assisting with online orders and wine club operations

Requirements / Qualifications

1. Diploma in Accounting or Finance
2. 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
3. High level of attention to detail and accuracy
4. Experience in payroll legislation, reporting, and contractual language
5. Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgets, and year-end preparation
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with solid intermediate skills in Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
7. 4+ years of QuickBooks experience required

Additional Details

1. Prior experience in a winery or hospitality setting is preferred but not required
2. The position is part-time or contract, with flexible hours and days
3. Work is in-person at our Niagara-on-the-Lake winery, as all paperwork is managed on-site
