PART-TIME BOOKKEEPER - 24 HOURS PER WEEK

The Hare Wine Company is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team for 12 to 24 hours weekly. Flexible start times are available, with options starting as early as 9:30 a.m. and ending by 2:00 p.m., making this role ideal for someone balancing work with personal commitments such as school drop-offs.

Overview:

The bookkeeper will record and maintain our financial transactions, including purchases, expenses, sales, invoices, accounts payable/receivable, and some payroll processing. This role is vital for ensuring the financial accuracy and health of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll processing
2. Bank reconciliations
3. Daily cash reconciliations
4. Managing accounts payable and receivable
5. Invoicing for licensees and other revenue streams
6. Assisting with online orders and wine club operations

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Diploma in Accounting or Finance
• At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with payroll legislation, reporting, and contractual language
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including receivables, payables, budgets, and year-end prep
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer (intermediate skills)
• Minimum of 4 years' experience with QuickBooks
• Experience in a winery or hospitality setting is a plus but not required
• This is a flexible part-time or contract position with adaptable hours and days
• Work is in-person at our Niagara-on-the-Lake winery, with on-site paperwork management
