SFIR Consulting is a fully remote accounting firm with a fully engaged team, and if you are ready to make a unique impact in an often standardized industry, we want to get to know you! We are looking to hire international, dynamic Bookkeepers in a full-time, remote role to support our growing client base. This is a client-facing position that requires you to engage with clients over email and the occasional video call.

Responsibilities of the bookkeeper position include (but are not limited to) :

  • Maintaining accurate accounting records for multiple clients
  • Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reviewing and producing financial statements
  • Understanding subledgers and intercompany transactions
  • Assisting with tax filing preparation, month-end and year-end close
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilizing our CRM and Project Management tools and other administrative work
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned (expense reporting, account reconciliations, etc.)

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting or related field in English
  • For recent grads, a combination of studies + 1 year of experience is acceptable
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel, PowerPoint, and other accounting-related platforms
  • A strong aptitude for learning new systems and approaches
  • The ability to navigate new cloud-based software such as Zoho Books, Freshbooks, Sage, AccountEdge, etc. is an asset
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with strong multi-tasking skills while working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the company's financial information as well as its clients
  • A dedicated space to perform work remotely and neatly with minimal interruption
  • Able to work from 9 am to 5 pm EST
  • Provide at least 2 references
