Job description

This is a remote working position that requires outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader in environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services, is seeking Environmental Field Technicians to support fieldwork activities for our Florida Operations.

Position Expectations:

1. Execute, supervise, and document field activities related to environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction, including but not limited to:

• Performing soil and groundwater sampling; assisting with remedial system operation & maintenance.
• Supervising contractors during subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment & piping installations.
• Overseeing contractors and providing environmental support during UST system upgrades.
• Performing labor and construction duties as required.
• Maintaining equipment calibration logs.
• Overseeing monitoring well abandonment activities.
• Recording detailed field notes for each site.
• Handling warehouse and maintenance duties.
• Performing general repairs.
• Following GES policies and procedures for engineering, construction, and O&M.
• Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all activities.

Skills & Requirements:

• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-4+ years of related field experience; mechanical aptitude required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred; training provided if not yet certified. Certification is required to perform duties.
• Flexibility to support project needs, including outdoor work and weekend shifts.
• Willingness to travel within Florida on short notice.
• Good driving record; ability to travel and conduct fieldwork up to 70% of the time.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude.
