Job Description

This is a remote working position that requires outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader in environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services, seeks Environmental Field Technicians to support fieldwork activities for our Florida Operations.

Position Expectations:

1. Execute, supervise, and document field activities related to environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction. This includes:

• Performing soil and groundwater sampling, assisting with remedial system operation & maintenance.
• Supervising contractors on subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment & piping installations.
• Overseeing contractors and providing environmental support during UST system upgrades.
• Performing labor and construction duties as per project requirements.
• Maintaining equipment calibration logs.
• Overseeing monitoring well abandonment activities.
• Recording detailed field notes for each site.
• Handling warehouse and maintenance duties.
• Performing general repairs.
• Following GES policies and procedures related to engineering, construction, and operations & maintenance.
• Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all activities.

Skills & Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-4+ years of related field experience; mechanical aptitude required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred; training will be provided if not already obtained. Certification is mandatory to perform duties.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule supporting project needs, including outdoor work.
• Weekend availability, including daytime and overnight shifts, and short-term travel.
• Willingness to travel within Florida on short notice.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork up to 70% of the time.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented attitude.
