Field Tech - Environmental Compliance and Remediation

Position Overview

This is a remote position requiring outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is a leader in environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services across diverse sectors. We are seeking Environmental Field Technicians to support our Florida operations.

Responsibilities

1. Execute, supervise, and document field activities related to environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction.
2. Perform soil and groundwater sampling; assist with remedial system operation & maintenance.
3. Supervise contractors during subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment & piping installations.
4. Oversee contractors and provide environmental support during UST system upgrades.
5. Perform labor and construction duties as required.
6. Maintain equipment calibration logs.
7. Oversee monitoring well abandonment activities.
8. Record detailed field notes for each site visit.
9. Handle warehouse and maintenance duties, including general repairs.
10. Follow GES policies and safety standards in all activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-4+ years of related field experience; mechanical aptitude required.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred; training provided if needed.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, outdoors, including weekends and overnight shifts.
• Willingness to travel within Florida on short notice; up to 70% travel required.
• Good driving record, strong work ethic, detail-oriented, team player.
