Summary
  • Contacts assigned customer accounts to sell the organization’s products within a designated geographic territory.
  • Focuses on territory sales targets, new business development, and troubleshooting on problem or key markets.
  • May have special markets/complex product lines assigned that require significant client relationship skills.
  • Organizes own work routine with guidance from the Regional Sales Manager and Marketing department.
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Selling skills & message mastery: Demonstrates in-depth understanding of product messages and consistently delivers to customers in various selling situations. Engages customers in needs-based discussions, positioning products as solutions, and leveraging customer needs to build loyalty. Treats everyone as a customer and adapts approach based on the environment.
  • Entrepreneurial: Manages territory as if it were their own business, formulates customer plans, and owns results.
  • Strategic agility & business acumen: Takes a big-picture view, develops business plans, uses data sources to analyze territory, individualizes selling approach, and optimizes access to key decision makers.
  • Customer focus: Meets customer expectations, establishes effective relationships, and gains trust and respect.
Education and Competencies
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Sciences preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of proven pharmaceutical sales experience is an asset.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Motivated self-starter, excellent communication, adaptable, proactive, team player, computer literate, and able to discuss scientific matters.
