Job Description

KPrime Technologies is undergoing an exciting growth phase, and we are looking for individuals to join our team across Canada. We have been focused on hiring 110 technicians nationwide and are 75% complete. Currently, we are seeking 3 new team members for our Sudbury location. The team includes technicians of various levels working rotating shifts supporting the airport and satellite facilities.

KPrime Technologies, established in 1997, is a leading independent provider of chemical and security detection instruments in Western Canada, with active sales and support across Canada. We pride ourselves on our growth, quality, and customer service.

As an Airport Security Service Technician, you will service The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority’s passenger screening equipment at the airport and satellites, including installation, repair, and maintenance. We will provide all necessary training. Candidates should have basic mechanical and electronic skills, networking, computer experience, and pride in quality work.

Please note: We are hiring for multiple levels; your assigned level will depend on your skills and experience.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide service, installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems
  • Order, receive, and return parts as needed
  • Complete documentation and reports promptly
  • Communicate professionally with on-site staff and partners
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental policies
Education/Skills Requirements
  • Graduate of technical school, military electronics training, or related trade certification
  • Experience in field service, especially with x-ray, screening tech, or mechanical systems, is highly desirable
  • Customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; French is an asset
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operating systems (Windows, Linux)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, bend, and maneuver around equipment
  • Lift up to 50 lbs / 23 kg
  • Proficiency with manual and power tools
Non-negotiable Conditions for Employment
  • Pass a Government of Canada security background check
  • Be a permanent resident or have lived in Canada for at least 5 years with a valid work visa
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
  • Possess a valid passport or work visa for US training
  • Be able to work irregular hours, including shift work and on-call duties
  • Travel to remote airport locations for maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Work on special projects and travel on short notice as required
Compensation Package
  • Salary range of $45,000 to $85,000/year depending on level and skills, with increases through training
  • Benefits, paid vacation, and other perks
