Position Title : Data Analyst

Location : Edmonton, AB (Remote)

Mode : Contract

Duration : 12+ Months

Duties :

1. Design data extraction, transformation, and loading solutions in accordance with GOA geospatial data architecture, framework, principles, models, standards, and guidelines.
2. Integrate disparate geospatial data and analyze interactions of geospatial features.
3. Transform data into actionable insights through ETL processes for solution interpretation.
4. Extract, locate, and analyze geographic data using GIS tools and scripting languages.
5. Develop GIS data integration and conversion workflows using scripting languages and tools.
6. Implement spatial analysis using comprehensive analytical methods and algorithms.
7. Execute analytical models on a schedule to ensure the organization operates on the most up-to-date data.
8. Automate repetitive tasks and streamline GIS processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
9. Create and execute raster analysis models on imagery, rasters, and GIS data.
10. Create mapping products for spatial analysis using GIS tools and scripting languages.
11. Develop interactive web maps and applications for data dissemination and decision support.
12. Produce data visualizations combining multiple datasets to meet specific business needs.
13. Conduct spatial analysis to identify patterns and trends in geographic data.
14. Perform geostatistical analysis for predictive insights based on geographic data.
15. Create models to simulate scenarios and forecast future events.
16. Assist in feasibility studies by providing visual resources and data analysis for broadband access and adoption policies.
17. Prepare reports on geographical statistics based on spatial data.
18. Create enterprise geodatabases in relational database systems using tools and scripts.
19. Manage workflows and scripts to integrate structured geographic datasets from various sources into enterprise relational databases.
20. Manage workflows to handle various GIS projections.
21. Develop and maintain scripts to ensure geodatabase integrity and performance.
22. Compile spatial datasets from sources including GPS data, field observations, satellite images, and environmental data.
23. Manage security around geodatabases.
24. Identify opportunities for automation in data transformation and integration tasks and propose solutions.
25. Verify survey data and map information for accuracy.
26. Establish data maintenance workflows and versioning strategies to ensure data quality.
27. Develop Map Services, Geoprocessing services, Image services, and Geocode services.
28. Perform other responsibilities as required or requested.
