Position Overview

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN or Physician Assistant) with at least 1 year of oncology experience. Exceptional new graduates with a focused interest in oncology will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Medical Knowledge

• Demonstrate comprehensive oncology-specific and general medical-surgical knowledge.
• Provide rational explanations for clinical decisions based on guidelines, science, and experience.
• Contribute to research efforts by staying current with protocols and identifying trial candidates.

Patient Care

• Perform thorough health histories and physical exams to identify health issues and initiate appropriate actions.
• Interpret findings and develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about oncology care, side effect management, and psychosocial support.

Practice-Based Learning and Improvement

• Identify learning needs and pursue relevant education.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice.

Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate effectively within the healthcare team.
• Document care plans accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings and tumor boards.

Professionalism

• Act as a resource and leader in oncology care.
• Manage time effectively and reflect on personal development.
• Maintain legal and ethical standards.

Systems-Based Practice

• Engage in quality improvement activities.
• Document services for reimbursement.
