Position Overview

The ideal candidate is an Advanced Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant) with at least 1 year of oncology or surgical experience. Exceptional new graduates with a focused interest will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Knowledge

• Demonstrate in-depth oncology-specific and general medical-surgical knowledge.
• Provide rational explanations for clinical decisions based on guidelines, science, and experience.
• Contribute to research efforts by staying updated on protocols and identifying potential trial candidates.

Patient Care

• Perform comprehensive health histories and physical exams to identify health problems and initiate appropriate actions.
• Interpret clinical findings and develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about oncology care, side effect management, and psychosocial support.

Practice-Based Learning and Improvement

• Identify knowledge and skill needs through self-assessment and collaboration.
• Attend and disseminate relevant continuing education.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice.

Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure a unified care approach.
• Document care plans accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings, conferences, and committees to support interdisciplinary care.
