Position Overview

Malignant Hematology Advanced Practice Provider - Outpatient

The ideal candidate is an Advanced Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant) with at least 1 year of oncology experience. Exceptional new graduates with a focused interest will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Knowledge

• Demonstrate in-depth oncology-specific and general medical-surgical knowledge.
• Provide rational explanations for clinical decisions based on guidelines, science, and experience.
• Contribute to research efforts by staying updated on protocols and identifying trial candidates.

Patient Care

• Perform comprehensive health histories and physical exams to identify health issues.
• Interpret findings and develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on oncology care, side effect management, and psychosocial support.

Practice-Based Learning and Improvement

• Identify learning needs and pursue relevant education.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice.

Interprofessional Collaboration and Communication

• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Document clinical information accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings and tumor boards.

Professionalism

• Act as a resource and leader in oncology care.
• Manage time effectively and reflect on personal development.
