Job Overview
- Prepare Design Change Packages such as Modifications, Temporary Modifications, and Non-Identical Component Replacements.
- Provide technical and process support to field work under Projects, Work Order Holds, and Project Control Center (PCC) actions.
- Prepare design, calculations, design bills of material, and address design-related field issues.
- Provide advice and/or direction to Design Leads, review designs, and sign Field Initiated Changes.
- Perform field inspections, acceptance, and approvals.
- Maintain written documented processes and procedures to reflect improved operating methods and additions to all supported systems.
- Provide Engineering Change Control guidance, support field issues and Field Initiated Changes, and facilitate positive outcomes with EPC vendors.
- Understand impacts on cost and schedule, and support efforts to minimize impacts driving projects.
Supplementary Notes
- This position involves design support for electrical, instrumentation, real-time process control computer technical documents, specifications, requirements, drawings, commissioning procedures, reports, software qualifications, categorization, design plans, and testing procedures.
- Addressing cybersecurity and vulnerability risk analysis.
- Design experience and familiarity with engineering change control process.
- The role is for an Assistant Technical Engineer. Candidates with higher education and experience may qualify for roles at the Technical Engineer or Senior Technical Engineer levels.
- Experience in design engineering (electrical, instrumentation, controls, software, fire, security, power systems) is an asset.
- A P.Eng designation is preferred but not required.
- This position will be located at the Pickering Nuclear Station.
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, computer, or software engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronics, computer science, statistical analysis, and economics to provide consultative services in specialized technical fields related to power plant development, design, construction, commissioning, and operation.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication and technical report writing to develop standards, methods, procedures, and comprehensive reports.
