Job description

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Manager, PMO, the Project Planner & Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed schedules to evaluate, plan, and manage projects. This position ensures that project schedules are continuously developed through the stage gate phases and accurately represent achievable plans incorporating all stakeholder inputs and operational requirements. Additionally, the role supports the Portfolio Planning & Reporting Analyst in the Owners Team Workforce plans, including Time Tracking for the overall portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain study, project execution, and commissioning schedules aligned with the overall project portfolio.
  2. Perform analyses of baselined schedules for risks, critical path, and earned value management.
  3. Coordinate project-specific schedule risk assessment activities to support Study & Project Managers and risk owners.
  4. Establish high-level project timelines, milestones, deadlines, and resources during project intake and portfolio planning to support midterm planning.
  5. Provide input into study and execution plans, incorporating approved plans into the project schedule.
  6. Track, review, and incorporate (once approved) project schedule changes (e.g., design changes, scope changes, procurement delays) and report according to the governance framework.
  7. Contribute to establishing KSPC scheduling standards and best practices in line with the K+S Organization Handbook and Project Management Manual.
  8. Evaluate third-party contractor schedules and perform schedule audits.
  9. Monitor actual progress versus planned progress and KPIs, including bar charts, s-curves, manpower histograms, and schedule performance indexes. Provide exception reports and recommended actions.
  10. Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Procurement to develop and maintain procurement tracking lists for long-lead equipment.
  11. Support the portfolio schedule to forecast at least 3 years ahead, with quarterly updates.
  12. Provide project timelines, stages, and status overviews to Project Managers.
  13. Facilitate cross-functional planning and review of project schedules before gates and baselining.
  14. Contribute to RFP processes, including Scope of Work development and Technical Bid Evaluations.
  15. Perform quality assurance on project schedules and reports, coordinating with Study & Project Managers to address risks and non-conformances before gates and baselining.
  16. Identify and monitor interdependencies and synergies between projects to support portfolio execution strategies.
  17. Develop schedule layouts and reporting structures to meet stakeholder and supervisor needs.

YOUR PROFILE

  1. Engineering Technologist with 3-5 years of experience in a heavy industrial process setting.
  2. Proficient in Primavera P6 and Excel scheduling platforms.
  3. Exceptional organizational skills for detailed data management impacting maintenance and operations decisions.
  4. Over 3 years’ project management experience on large multi-year and small maintenance projects.
  5. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  6. Experience in developing and refining best-practice programs and policies.
  7. Proven stakeholder relationship management skills.
  8. Aptitude for facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
  9. Understanding of project business alignment with organizational goals.
  10. Systems-level thinking capability.
  11. Experience leading organizational change through change management.
  12. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, business intelligence, and analytical tools.
  13. Track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
