Position: Sales Manager at Volvo Cars Richmond

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager responsible for assisting the General Manager in planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the activities of the Sales Department. The role involves developing training programs for both new and used car sales staff, conducting training classes, and managing administrative duties related to the department.

  1. Establish long- and short-term goals for the sales team as directed by the General Manager.
  2. Guide sales staff in setting their individual objectives.
  3. Recommend inventory levels based on sales rates and current stock, considering color, model, and equipment.
  4. Set and monitor gross profit objectives for sales staff.
  5. Assist in forecasting controllable expenses for the department.
  6. Set weekly sales targets and track performance.
  7. Ensure clear communication of dealership policies and procedures to sales staff.
  8. Enforce policies and procedures consistently.
  9. Evaluate monthly sales performance and gross profit of staff.
  10. Conduct daily one-on-one meetings to monitor activities and assist customers.
  11. Ensure daily planning using the company CRM system, including calls, emails, and appointments.
  12. Hire, motivate, counsel, and monitor sales employees’ performance.
  13. Supervise follow-ups with customers to enhance customer relations.
  14. Review sales performance regularly and develop training plans to improve.
  15. Recommend disciplinary actions if standards are not met.
  16. Lead daily and weekly sales training sessions and ensure completion of manufacturer training.
  17. Collaborate with sales staff to increase gross profit and finance penetration.
  18. Ensure adherence to prospecting programs to maximize results.
  19. Conduct performance reviews quarterly and annually.
  20. Coordinate activities with Service, Parts, and Business Office departments.
  21. Assist in planning programs to help sales staff reach their goals.
