Job Description

About You:

We are seeking a passionate individual in the GTA or Ottawa/Montreal areas with strong communication and sales skills to manage and grow our customer accounts at Drexel!

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Business Development, the National Account Manager will work closely with the Retail Sales Team. The successful candidate will manage national retail accounts in Canada and the USA, focusing on both inline and online sales.

Responsibilities:

  1. Obtain, develop, and create sustainable, profitable sales programs.
  2. Manage and grow sales at your retail accounts.
  3. Meet and exceed sales and Adjusted Gross Profit objectives quarter over quarter, while increasing share and distribution.
  4. Develop proposals with new and existing accounts, maintaining accountability for financial results.
  5. Manage forecasting accurately and consistently (monthly and seasonal spikes).
  6. Maintain comprehensive product knowledge across categories through continuous learning and research.
  7. Work with Buyers and Category Management to gain market and customer insights by building stakeholder relationships.
  8. Ensure key account coverage based on agreed frequency.
  9. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and specialty areas to satisfy account requirements.
  10. Ensure clear and regular communication with internal teams across departments including marketing, sales, supply chain, and planning.
  11. Actively pursue opportunities at each assigned account.
  12. Build strong executive relationships with retailers to foster long-term growth.
  13. Coordinate account and market reviews with KPIs, best practices, and key learnings.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

What you need to be successful:

Preference given to candidates residing in GTA or Ottawa/Montreal, especially bilingual candidates.

  • Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in account management with national retailers.
  • Recent sales or buying experience with major big box/ecommerce retailers or regional chains in Canada/USA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the USA as needed.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Additional Information

Job Location: Fully remote with occasional travel.
