The Contingent Labour Office’s (CLO) mandate is to partner with the business to enable an expedited and customer-centric positive approach to engaging external resources. This involves balancing the commercial needs of the business with mitigating risk to the firm. This mandate is achieved by :
- Utilizing internal contingent workforce expert practitioners, who continuously expand their skills and remain up-to-date on market intelligence.
- Acting as trusted advisors, to educate, challenge the status quo, and advise the business on creative approaches to find the right solutions.
- Delivering a customer-centric approach to the business and external resources by minimizing administration efforts, anticipating their needs, projecting a ‘how can I help you’ attitude, and actively collaborating with Hiring Managers to deepen relationships.
Location
Anywhere in Canada will be considered; this is a virtual work opportunity (1-2 days in office per month may be required for meetings).
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Leader of the Contract Labour Office (CLO), the Contract Manager will execute processes and solve challenges related to external resources during initial setup, while on contract, and during renewal or departure, across all functions and locations in Canada. The CLO processes over 1000 external resources annually, ranging from individual contractors to multi-million dollar organizations. Responsibilities include :
- Advising, guiding, and supporting Hiring Managers in engaging external resources.
- Working independently on complex cases, escalations, and requests for effective resolution.
- Managing complex contract revisions, risk assessments, change management, and difficult relationships.
- Handling matters related to classification, conflicts of interest, immigration, taxation, data security, and other compliance issues, often in partnership with internal SMEs and external providers.
- Supporting high-risk cases involving legislative and regulatory compliance, policies, and guidelines regarding third-party resources.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Promoting the CLO’s brand through a customer-centric approach and establishing trust as a subject-matter expert.
- Managing all cases using KPMG’s vendor management system (Flextrack) as a super-user.
- Training internal clients on system use and request submission.
- Gathering, interpreting, and assessing information for case management.
- Conducting due diligence on resources and advising stakeholders.
- Maintaining documentation for reporting, analytics, and compliance audits.
- Managing complex and high-risk cases, including contract negotiations and risk assessments.
- Supporting change management initiatives and managing challenging relationships.
- Participating in continuous improvement projects and staying current on relevant legislation and practices.
- Responding to inquiries, providing reports, and leading educational sessions.
- Mentoring team members and contributing to firm objectives related to inclusion and community involvement.
Qualifications
- College or University degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years’ experience with contract labour or contingent workforce case management.
- Experience drafting third-party agreements and liaising with multiple parties.
- Knowledge of immigration matters related to resourcing.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel; experience with ServiceNow and Flextrack is an asset.
- Legal training or experience is a plus.
Additional Information
This position requires fluency in English. The salary range is $73,000 to $109,500, with potential bonuses, based on location and qualifications.
