Job summary

Fairfield Gonzales Community Association in Victoria, BC, is recruiting an independent, curious and collaborative OSC Leader to oversee our school-age children with unstructured time for social and physical exploration before and after school.

This role involves working in-ratio with a second Team Leader, drop-off/pick-up at local schools, and planning engaging activities for ages 5–12. A minimum of 20 hours childcare coursework and a valid First Aid/CPR (C) are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 hours of childcare related coursework.
  • Experience in licensed childcare setting is an asset.
  • Experience with children aged 5-12 years old.
  • Minimum 19 years of age.
  • Must hold a valid Standard First Aid and CPR (C) Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Work in-ratio with a group of up to 24 children, alongside another Team Leader.
  • Drop-off and pick-up kids from their respective schools (locations on school grounds).
  • Create activities and outings that are engaging for your group. Daily programming is planned by Team Leaders.
  • Support children in developing their social and physical skills in an open-ended play program.
  • Attend team meetings, staff meetings and training session.
