Job summary

Position Overview

Group Leaders support the daily operation of the Before & After Care Program, providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children. This role includes planning and leading recreational activities, assisting with homework time, supporting positive behaviour, and working collaboratively with other staff to create a welcoming and caring program for students and families.

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children in a child care, school, camp, or recreation setting
• Knowledge of recreational programming and child development
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High School Completion Certificate (or equivalent)

Assets

• Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
• Post-secondary coursework in Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, or a related field
• Experience in culturally sustaining and inclusive programming

Hours of Work

• Morning shift: 7:45 - 8:45 am
• Afternoon shift: 2:30-5:45pm
• Potential for additional hours (professional development days, early dismissals, etc.)
