Job summary

Pomerleau's civil engineering & infrastructure team seeks a skilled driller to join our field operations. You will prepare and carry out drilling, set up and transport materials, and work closely with the crew to ensure adherence to plans and safety on large projects.

You'll operate with a focus on quality, coordinate with shifts, and maintain blasting and drilling equipment while contributing to a collaborative, safety‑driven site culture.

Qualifications

• CCQ occupation card is required.
• ASP Construction & WHMIS 201 card.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.
• General explosives permit is required.
• DEP in blasting or drilling is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and carry out drilling operations, as well as set up, dismantle and transport drilling materials and equipment.
• Establish and determine areas to be blasted according to established plans.
• Handle equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure proper operation of pumps.
• Inspect blasting sites before and after operations to assess conditions and results.
• Work as part of a team, maintaining a pleasant and trusting work environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and other shifts on site.
• Perform regular maintenance on blasting and drilling equipment.
• Perform all other related tasks.

As a driller with Pomerleau's civil engineering & infrastructure team, you will work closely with all workers to ensure coordination of the work. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you'll have the opportunity to support the skilled team and help ensure that work is carried out to specifications.
