Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking a long-reach mechanical excavator operator to join our civil engineering and infrastructure team. You will coordinate with crew to ensure safe, efficient execution on large construction sites, from scope to completion.

You will maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and support collaboration across trades on site. This role offers steady work on major projects across Canada and opportunities to grow within a respected national leader.

Qualifications

• CCQ excavator operator card required.
• ASP Construction card & WHMIS 2015 required.
• DEP excavator operator diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license – Class 5.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of Trimble GPS systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation, reconstruction, trench work, filling and digging, leveling and land development, work on barges, work in riverside areas, handling (loading-unloading), etc.
• Adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and construction industry standards.
• Work as part of a team, maintain a pleasant and trusting work environment, collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and other trades on the job site.
• Care for and maintain equipment.
• Perform all other related tasks related to operations.

As a long-reach mechanical excavator operator within Pomerleau's civil engineering & infrastructure team, you will work closely with all workers to ensure the safe coordination and execution of work. Working on large-scale construction projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will have the opportunity to contribute to the productivity and efficiency of our construction sites.
