Job summary

United Way BC in British Columbia is seeking a Telefundraiser to build rapport over the phone and encourage donations through workplace campaigns. You will follow up on inquiries, maintain a high level of customer service, and track donor interactions in our database.

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Partnerships, the role focuses on reactivating lapsed donors, responding to inquiries, and ensuring accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school graduation.
• One year of experience in sales, fundraising or telemarketing.
• Ability to build rapport on the phone and handle rejection.
• Connect donor giving to community impact.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team.
• Experience with data entry and databases.
• Commitment to client privacy and confidentiality.
• Proficient in MS Office and strong English grammar.

Responsibilities

• Calls lapsed donors to encourage giving for the 2026 campaign.
• Provides high-level customer service and fosters donor relationships.
• Responds to inquiries based on script provided.
• Tracks outcomes: number of calls and donor inquiries.
• Notes required follow-ups for staff action.
• Suggests improvements to service or processes.
• Performs general office duties as required.
• Other duties related to job qualifications.
