The Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting the cybersecurity preparedness of post secondary institutions in Canada? Read on to learn more about an exciting role as Django/Python Technical Delivery Lead.

The Django/Python Technical Delivery Lead is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and release cycle management of the Benchmarking service platform. They lead the team through critical phases, including analysis, configuration, testing, and ongoing support, leveraging expertise in Django, Python, React, MUI, RESTful APIs, and MySQL. The Django/Python Technical Delivery Lead develops accurate estimates for projects and detailed plans for executing technical release schedules.

They provide expert guidance during analysis, design, and implementation to members of the project team. The Technical Lead ensures that new system elements are developed in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Maintaining the benchmarking platform and ensuring ongoing availability are also part of the job duties. In addition to keeping up with technology updates, the Technical Delivery Lead makes sure the Django, Python, and MySQL environments remain current.

Qualifications

To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent education/experience in software development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Django software design and development with focus on applications and client-faced support. Experience with development/configuration of Django projects and applications including working with medium-to-large projects, and with React, MUI, RESTful APIs, and MySQL .
  • Experience working with API’s / Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience in execution of digital transformation of critical business workflows and/or service automation.
  • Experience with release management;
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to use multiple techniques to identify, evaluate, and develop solutions to complex business challenges;
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Django project and application architectural design;
  • Excellent functional and technical knowledge of Django projects and modules, including but not limited to: Django Forms, Models, Views, Templates, Security, Data-validation, multi-application projects, and safe team development practices;
  • Understanding of Django implementation end to end cycle.
