Duties
The Alberta RCMP Operations Strategy Branch supports operations by ensuring that the Division is a strategically focused, aligned, and intelligence-led organization of excellence.The Operations Support Analyst supports all levels of the service delivery model in Alberta, as well as the RCMP’s provincial and municipal contract partners, through ongoing research, analysis, and the presentation of empirically defensible strategies to attain organization goals. This role employs intelligence methodologies to examine business, crime and criminal data and trends from internal and external sources.Key duties may include:
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff a position on a indeterminate basis in Edmonton, Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

RCMP Secret Security Clearance.Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
The process requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.
Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.Willing and able to work overtime as required.Willing and able to travel by various modes of transportation (including commercial and light aircraft) up to and including remote locations.Willing and able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in social sciences, such as Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Political Science or Criminology.
