Job summary

Browns Crafthouse UBC in Vancouver is seeking a diversity manager to lead guest experiences and teams. You will train hourly staff, implement systems, build relationships and drive results in a high-volume restaurant environment.

This role offers permanent, full-time employment at an award-winning location on the UBC campus, with a salary range of CAD 60,000–70,000 per year. The ideal candidate has at least two years of management and a passion for hospitality and staff development.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of management or related experience working in the restaurant industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, guest service, and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong computer and office administration skills
  • The ability to train effectively and execute to deliver a great guest experience
  • A passion for food, beverage and all things related to the restaurant business
  • An ability to build and foster relationships
  • High attention to detail
  • A true passion for perfecting Guest Experiences and People Development.

Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in service during all operating hours
  • Uphold the Browns commitment to quality in service with ongoing training of hourly staff
  • Maintain/support the high standard of quality represented in our Food & Beverage programs
  • Co-ordinate and conduct pre-shift meetings
  • Maintain daily communication for Food, Wine and Beverage details as they relate to service
  • Develop product knowledge through ongoing training with the utilization of seminars and tastings
  • Ability to culture a work environment where staff development and good work are recognized
  • Develop and maintain regular clientele
  • Increase guest check average
  • Balance daily cash
  • Meet labour targets
