Job summary

NexGen Transportation Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to coordinate the movement of equipment and field personnel across Canada and the United States.

This full-time in-person role requires close collaboration with project managers, drivers, and customers to execute efficient transportation plans and maintain high safety standards. Ideal candidates have prior dispatch or transportation coordination experience and strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Previous dispatch or transportation coordination experience is required.
  • Experience in heavy haul, specialized transportation, crane, construction, or logistics industries is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and transportation software.
  • Knowledge of provincial permitting, oversize transportation, and Hours of Service regulations is an asset.
  • Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong team-first mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily dispatch of trucks, trailers, and specialized transportation equipment.
  • Schedule drivers while ensuring compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, customers, and operations personnel to execute transportation plans.
  • Coordinate permits, route approvals, utility escorts, police escorts, and pilot vehicles.
  • Monitor fleet movements and proactively respond to delays, weather, road restrictions, and changing customer requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates and support throughout each move.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and operational documentation.
  • Assist with equipment scheduling, maintenance planning, and fleet utilization.
  • Support after-hours operations on a rotating basis as required.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining NexGen's high operational standards.

We are looking for an energetic professional to join our NexGen Transportation (NexGen) team on a full-time basis. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of equipment and field personnel efficiently and safely.

We are looking for an energetic professional to join our NexGen Transportation (NexGen) team on a full-time basis. NexGen is Myshak Group of Companies is an industrial & commercial crane supply company that provides both operated and bare crane equipment rentals serving the Western Canadian market. Based out of Acheson, we also offer a full line of site support equipment, crane mats as well as warehousing and transportation services.

As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of equipment and field personnel efficiently and safely. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
