Job summary

Standard Bus Contracting in Terrace, BC is seeking a part-time Dispatcher to join our team. In this role you’ll handle driver communications, scheduling, and routing to ensure efficient service, with a split shift schedule.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent communication, and experience in transportation. Familiarity with MS Office and database systems is a plus and you will contribute to payroll and reporting duties as required.

• Strong organizational skills including time management, multitasking, and remaining calm in a hectic work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the transportation industry is an asset.
• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook and confidence in using database systems.
• Must have previous experience in administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide tactful and professional phone assistance
• Plan, organize and respond to route, fleet, and operator issues and advise on company safety policies and procedures
• Coordinate the activities of drivers, supervisors, and fleet units using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
• Work independently to resolve customer/passenger issues in a professional and friendly manner
• Administrative duties as required (payroll, filing, and reports)

In this key position, you’ll be integral to the day-to-day operations, handling driver communications, scheduling, and routing to ensure efficient service. We’re looking for an industry professional with a strong commitment to customer service and passenger satisfaction. To thrive in this fast-paced role, the ideal candidate will bring exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Shift details:

Split shift Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 10:00 am and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Wage:

$26.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:
