Manitoulin Transport is seeking a Dispatcher for the Nanaimo service area. The role centers on planning and coordinating pickups and deliveries to ensure on-time service.

You will be the nerve center of daily operations, managing routes, driver availability, and equipment while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams. Ideal candidates will know the Nanaimo area well, possess strong interpersonal skills, and thrive under pressure.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Nanaimo area and surrounding routes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment used in dispatch and transport operations.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Aptitude for math and quick numerical reasoning.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule terminal pickups and deliveries for the Nanaimo service area.
• Verify equipment and driver availability, including start times.
• Coordinate with customers, drivers, central dispatch, and Terminal Manager.
• Perform dock work as required.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Dispatcher role is a fast-paced, demanding position focused on planning and coordinating the pickups and deliveries for our Nanaimo service area, including surrounding rural routes. We're looking to onboard a dedicated professional to join our team and help us meet or exceed our customers' expectations.

As a Dispatcher, you'll be the nerve center of our operations, ensuring smooth and efficient daily flow. Your key duties will include:

• Scheduling to execute all of the terminals pickups and deliveries
• Verify equipment and driver availability including start times.
• Dealing with customers, drivers, central dispatch, Terminal Manager, etc.
• Dock work
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications
