Job summary

Steele's Transportation Group is hiring an Edmonton Terminal Dispatch Coordinator. You will own the daily freight movement from route planning to execution, coordinating with drivers, Customer Service and the dock to keep operations safe, on-time and efficient.

The role emphasizes ownership, proactive problem solving, and clear communication. Edmonton-based, full-time with day shifts and competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in transportation dispatch, route planning or fleet coordination.
• Ability to turn orders and constraints into an efficient plan and re-plan quickly.
• Calm, clear decision-making under pressure and decisive leadership.
• Own the plan with focus on outcomes and customer service.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan the day by building multi-stop P&D routes from appointments, geography, freight characteristics and capacity.
• Manage the plan by monitoring stops, adjusting for delays and communicating with drivers.
• Protect safety and service by complying with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and informing customers of status.
• Close the loop by ensuring PODs, updating manifests and improving future plans.
