Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. in Calgary is seeking a proactive dispatcher to coordinate inbound and outbound freight to meet daily priorities and weekly targets, maintaining high service levels.

You will build relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers, analyze lane data and costs, negotiate rates, and ensure accurate shipping documentation. A background in trucking or dispatch and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in trucking industry and/or dispatch.
• Educational background in Supply Chain Management (or related Business).
• Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of North American geography is considered an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight to meet daily priorities and weekly transportation targets while ensuring service levels.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers to address service risks and resolve issues.
• Analyze lane data and costs to negotiate rates with customers and third-party carriers.
• Communicate with customers, brokers, and carriers to resolve pricing, service levels, delivery schedules, and documentation.
• Direct logistics activities: obtain shipment rates, negotiate with providers, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Verify and troubleshoot shipping or customs documentation including PODs, BOL, and carrier confirmations.
• Proactively communicate service risks to customers for proper resolution.

Available Shifts: Morning/Afternoon/Nights

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating inbound and outbound freight to meet daily priorities and weekly transportation targets while ensuring a high level of service.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers to proactively address service risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely, transparent communication.
• Analyze lane data, on-time performance and costs to effectively negotiate rates with customers and third-party carriers to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction
• Communicate with customers, brokers, and carriers to resolve discrepancies related to pricing, service levels, delivery schedules, and documentation.
• Direct and organize logistics activities such as obtaining shipment rates, negotiating with logistics service providers, selecting 3PL partners, tracking and expediting shipments, and solving any discrepancy of quality, quantity, and schedule.
• Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, but not limited to, PODs, BOL and carrier confirmation.
• Proactively communicate service risks to customers to provide proper resolution

Requirements

• Minimum 1 years of experience in trucking industry and/or dispatch experience(managing time sensitive shipment
• Educational background in Supply Chain Management (or other relevant area such as Business)
• Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar work environment
• Knowledge of the transportation industry and North American geography are considered assets.
• Positive attitude with good people skills.
• Good command of MS Office (Excel and Word) with an ability to quickly learn new software.
