Job summary

Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa in the Saskatoon area is seeking a Dishwasher / Steward to maintain cleanliness of dishes, glassware, utensils and kitchen areas, supporting safe and efficient food and beverage operations.

You will help with dishflow, waste handling, sanitation, and basic kitchen tasks while following safety procedures. Previous restaurant experience is an asset, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher/restaurant experience is asset but not required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to follow instructions and establish procedures.
• SIRS certification preferred; Safe Food Handling certification an asset.
• WHMIS certification preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwasher equipment safely and maintain wash/rinse temperatures and chemical levels.
• Wash, sanitize, inspect, sort, and store dishes, glassware, cookware and utensils.
• Maintain steady dish flow during service and report shortages or breakage.
• Clean floors, drains, mats, walls, and kitchen spaces.
• Remove garbage, compost, recycling according to procedures.
• Restock serviceware and kitchen supplies in designated areas.
• Support kitchen cleaning, receiving, and basic tasks as assigned.
• Follow food safety, WHMIS, chemical handling, PPE and safety procedures.
• Keep wet floors controlled and clearly marked to prevent accidents.
• Report broken equipment, leaks, pest concerns, and safety hazards.
• Maintain chemical storage and dilution systems per procedures.
• Assist with setup, organization of serviceware, and kitchen deep cleaning.

Position Overview

The Dishwasher / Steward maintains the cleanlinessand sanitation of dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen equipment, and culinarywork areas to support safe and efficient food and beverage operations. Thisposition provides essential back-of-house support by maintaining organized dishflow, waste handling, cleaning standards, and required supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operatedishwashing equipment safely and maintain required wash and rinse temperatures,and chemical levels.
• Wash,sanitize, inspect, sort, and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware,utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain steadydish flow during service and communicate shortages or breakage promptly.
• Clean floors,drains, mats, walls, equipment exteriors, waste areas, and assigned kitchenspaces.
• Removegarbage, compost, recycling, and other waste according to procedures.
• Restockclean serviceware and kitchen supplies in designated areas.
• Supportkitchen cleaning, receiving, and basic operational tasks as assigned.
• Followfood safety, WHMIS, chemical handling, PPE, slip prevention, lifting, andoccupational safety procedures.
• Keep wetfloors and work areas controlled and clearly market to prevent accidents.
• Report brokenequipment, leaks, pest concerns, damaged serviceware, and safety hazardsimmediately.
• Maintainchemical storage and dilution systems according to approved procedures.
• Assistwith setup, organization of serviceware, kitchen deep cleaining, and stocking.
• Supportthe culinary and service teams with urgency and professionalism during peakperiods.
• Protectthe quality and appearance of guest-facing serviceware through careful handlingand inspection.
• Contributeto a respectful, organized, and reliable back-of-house environment.

Qualifications

• Previousexperience as a dishwasher, kitchen helper, or in a restaurant or hospitalityenvironment is considered as asset but not required.
• Ability towork in a fast-paced environment.
• Strongattention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability tofollow instructions and establish procedures.
• Serve ItRight Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification is preferred.
• Safe FoodHandling Certification is an asset.
