GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a senior leader to head regional environmental compliance, ensuring alignment with the company’s environmental management system. You will lead a team of regional managers to meet regulatory goals and drive continuous improvement across North America.

You will oversee auditing programs, strengthen relationships with regulators, and expand permit and training initiatives to reduce environmental risk while supporting growth and operational excellence.

Formación

• 12+ years in the hazardous waste industry.
• 7+ years in environmental/regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in federal and provincial environmental legislation (e.g., TDGR, Cross-Border Movement, Ontario Reg 347).
• Post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., Chemical/Environmental Engineering/Technology, Environmental Studies).
• Experience in building and managing effective/goal-oriented teams.
• Strong overall understanding of the hazardous waste industry.
• Refined analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Effective team building/management and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead each region with a standardized approach to tracking site-specific regulatory requirements and report progress.
• Oversee an internal environmental compliance auditing program across the country.
• Review and prioritize site environmental issues and projects.
• Build and manage relationships with environmental regulating bodies (e.g., MOE, Transport Canada, Environment Canada, municipalities).
• Expand permit application processes in all regions by identifying gaps and obtaining necessary permits/licenses.
• Increase training and information sharing to expand regulatory knowledge.
• Coordinate with Operations and other support groups for effective teamwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
