Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) in Ontario seeks an Environmental Execution Planner to provide environmental project management and compliance oversight from planning through execution.

You will coordinate between project teams, construction, inspectors, and contractors, develop inspection programs, track compliance, and review permits. This role supports hydroelectric and utility projects with site travel as needed, emphasizing regulatory adherence and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental planning, compliance, and execution.
• Experience with hydroelectric, transmission or utility infrastructure projects is an asset.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline.
• Experience with EPC delivery models is an asset.
• Strong understanding of Ontario regulatory requirements.
• Experience overseeing environmental inspection programs and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience developing and maintaining project tracking systems, logs and document management.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, and project-tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental oversight and compliance during project planning and execution.
• Lead Environmental Inspection Team and align activities with permits and risks.
• Develop inspection programs, tracking tools, and logs.
• Review contractor environmental plans and permit applications.
• Coordinate permitting activities and regulator commitments.
• Support procurement with scopes of work and RFPs.
• Provide technical environmental support to teams during pre-construction and execution.
• Maintain environmental records and document control.
• Escalate significant risks to project leadership.
