Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking a Director, Rail Fleet Maintenance Management to provide strategic leadership for heavy rail fleet maintenance, ensuring availability, reliability and quality for GO Transit and UP Express. You will manage a team and external providers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or professional qualifications in Engineering or related field.
• Progressively responsible experience in transportation/logistics and management.
• Contract and vendor management experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (TC, FRA, APTA, TAC, etc.) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of maintenance plans aligned with asset management.
• Drive continuous improvement of maintenance delivery using LEAN techniques.
• Develop and implement SOPs for Rail Fleet Maintenance.
• Manage budgets and oversee service providers to meet reliability targets.
• Lead negotiations for maintenance contracts with external parties.
• Represent GO Transit with regulators and industry partners.
