Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking a Maintenance Delivery professional to support maintenance assurance and project management for system infrastructure under long-term P3 contracts. You will review technical, operational, and contractual information, identify risks, coordinate stakeholders, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

You will help transition major LRT projects into revenue service while contributing to the long-term performance and stewardship of critical transit infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, maintenance records, reports, specifications, and procedures.
  • Experience managing projects, contracts, or technical workstreams.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, operators, or asset owners.

Responsibilities

  • Review maintenance activities and contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, asset management, and industry requirements.
  • Conduct technical and contractual reviews, identify risks and non-conformances, and lead investigations related to asset failures and reliability concerns.
  • Review contractor submissions, maintenance records, condition assessments, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions and support resolution of contractual, technical, and maintenance-related issues.
  • Review key contractual deliverables, including performance, reliability, maintenance, activity, asset management, and condition reports.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, briefing notes, executive summaries, and recommendations for senior management.
  • Develop clear technical positions and reporting to support vendor compliance and contract administration.
  • Lead technical meetings and workshops with contractors, operators, consultants, Project Companies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technical reviews with Engineering, Asset Management, Safety, Operations, Commercial, and Project Delivery teams.
  • Build effective relationships with operators, maintainers, regulators, municipalities, and external agencies.

Maintenance Delivery is seeking a versatile professional with strong technical, analytical, project management, and communication skills.

The successful candidate will support maintenance assurance and project management for system infrastructure under long-term P3 contracts. This role will review technical, operational, and contractual information, identify risks and compliance issues, coordinate stakeholders, and provide evidence-based recommendations.

The role provides an opportunity to support the transition of major LRT projects into revenue service while contributing to the long-term performance and stewardship of critical transit infrastructure.

What will I be doing?
  • Review maintenance activities and contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, asset management, and industry requirements.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in infrastructure, transit, railway, construction, maintenance, facilities, or asset management.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, maintenance records, reports, specifications, and procedures, as well as managing projects, contracts, or technical workstreams.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, operators, or asset owners.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and quickly learn complex technical subject matter.
  • Assets: Experience in rail, transit, transportation, infrastructure, facilities, or public-sector environments; P.Eng. or PMP designation; knowledge of asset/reliability management, P3 contracts, CMMS, or reporting tools.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable building and fire codes, OHS, environmental and accessibility requirements, TSSA/NFPA/AODA standards, transit and rail maintenance practices, and asset lifecycle and reliability principles.
  • Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with occasional field work at transit, maintenance, station, or construction facilities and occasional work outside normal business hours. Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence required.
